Leeds Playhouse stands as one of the UK's "leading producing theatres," celebrated as a vibrant cultural hub in the heart of Yorkshire. It is renowned for creating "world class, relevant and compelling theatre" and for its deep commitment to transforming lives through the power of its work. The Playhouse's programming is incredibly diverse, spanning large-scale spectacles, intimate performances, and pioneering new writing, with a strong emphasis on community engagement. Following an impressive £15.8 million renovation, the theatre boasts state-of-the-art facilities, enhanced accessibility, and a welcoming atmosphere that earned it the "Most Welcoming Theatre 2022" award at the UK Theatre Awards.
Martin Atkinson held a significant role as a Producer at Leeds Playhouse. His tenure at this major regional theatre provided him with invaluable experience in high-level organisational management and the delivery of diverse artistic programmes.
During his time at Leeds Playhouse, Atkinson produced Eve Ensler's "Fruit Trilogy" a "harrowing but unmissable" theatre, toruing it to Latitude. Atkinson also worked alongside Artistic Director James Brining and Olivier Award winning Mark Rosenblatt in shaping the programme and producing new work.
